He Never Fails | The Betrayal of Judas

Read:  Mark 14:43-46

I love to dive into Gods Word and try to put myself in the setting. This would be one of the most difficult events to actually witness.

Imagine with me for just a moment the road Judas has traveled.

You have followed Jesus for three years. You have seen him perform miracles, heal people, teach with power and authority. Most importantly, you have seen the way He has loved others and the way He has loved you. Yet, you have made the decision to betray Him.

Now imagine approaching Jesus.  You fully understand that He knows what is coming.  And you give Him a kiss to seal His fate. What betrayal!

At the same time, can you picture Jesus? I imagine Judas looking into His eyes and seeing what He has always seen…love.

Because that is who God is. That is what God is.

Love.

What a picture of us today. Time and time again we turn our backs on God and His faithfulness. We sin, we become distracted. Yet, every time we turn back to Him, He is there with arms open wide, welcoming us back. He could destroy us with a snap of His fingers. He is more powerful than Thanos for you Marvel fans. Yet, He is always waiting to extend grace and forgiveness.

1 John 4:16 says, “And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.”

Thank God today that in the face of our betrayal, His love never fails.
