Hope is such an interesting word. We use it in so many ways and yet it is something the human soul longs to find. Often times we hope or desire something to happen. “I hope my life can return to ‘normal’ soon!” Or “I hope my team wins Saturday.” Yet hope is more than just a desire that something happens. Hope can also be centered on something or someone. The Bible speaks of the arrival of hope through the person of Jesus.
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 ESV)
Maybe He is the hope you’ve been searching to find! He is Immanuel – God with us!
