Have you ever received news that something was on it’s way, but then you had to wait. A few weeks ago, I made a warranty claim for a pair of sunglasses I purchased in 2015. The manufacturer claims a “limited lifetime warranty.” I completed all the necessary steps online and then returned my damaged glasses with the pre-paid postage label. I checked online daily for the status of my return. I checked for two weeks and the response to my query was “in process.”
Waiting is a challenge. It’s almost like when we are anticipating something that has yet to arrive we enter a “waiting room.”
Welcome to Mary’s life. In Luke 1:26-28, the angel Gabriel appears and shares the amazing message that she will be the mother of Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God. What an humbling message! What an incredible message!
Imagine Mary’s excitement! Imagine her fear! Imagine her questions! Imagine her anticipation!
And then the waiting room begins. Can you imagine how long the nine months of pregnancy seemed? And yet she continued to wait on the Lord.
What are you waiting on from the Lord? What are you anticipating the Lord to do that only He can do in your life? I promise, He is worth the wait!
