This week I have been reading through the book of Malachi. It’s a powerful word from this prophet. In Malachi 1, the Lord calls out the leaders of the church because they have not taken their worship seriously. Instead of giving the Lord the very best, they were giving Him leftovers.
How easy it is for me to give half-hearted worship to the Lord. I am reminded of another prophet’s word from the Lord…
And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men, therefore, behold, wI will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder… (Isaiah 29:13-14)
Take a moment and allow Him to draw you near to His heart. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to worship with our church family Sunday!
